Here you will find a sample of my work in science communication: written outreach, audiovisual content… Different formats that share the same goal: bringing science to everyone, from technical profiles to those who just want to have a good time learning. And if you prefer, you can filter by project type!

TALK: Quantum Café at BSC Talks 2025

TALK: Quantum Café at BSC Talks 2025

Talk where I adapted the content of the Quantum Café video into a live presentation format. I took advantage of the animations I created for the video to illustrate all the concepts in-situ, but added a participatory component to adapt the experience to the new format. In this case, I pose the dilemma between a sweet croissant and a savory one. Using colored papers, I exemplify how the audience's choices keep shifting due to different factors, but in an essentially random way. This way, I establish the concept of quantum fluctuation and superposition of options, to then move on to illustrating and deepening all the concepts from the original video.

Quantum Cafe - Quantum superposition at a coffee shop line

Quantum Cafe - Quantum superposition at a coffee shop line

Science communication video awarded "Best Quantum Video" at the OnZientzia contest, organized by the DIPC. In this video I use an everyday metaphor, the dilemma between two breakfasts, to explain abstract concepts such as quantum superposition, the wave function, and Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. I take a narrative approach, setting up the café situation so that the viewer feels a personal connection, and I draw constant parallels between both scenarios to make each concept easier to grasp. I accompany it with AfterEffects animations, smoother than in previous videos, so that the viewer can better visualize the concepts.

ARTICLE: Hund’s Rule and why electrons also go by bus

ARTICLE: Hund’s Rule and why electrons also go by bus

Science communication article about Hund's Rule, one of the most fundamental concepts in quantum chemistry. I decided to use a metaphor that would resonate with the target audience's everyday life: riding a bus. The atom is the bus, the passengers are the electrons, and the spin is the way they settle into their seat. I maintain this metaphor throughout the entire text to build a narrative around this idea, and wrap it up with a real-world example. This way, the reader can intuitively grasp the idea behind Hund's Rule, and finish with a somewhat more educational example.

VISITS: Guided visits to ALBA Synchrotron and MareNostrum5 supercomputer

VISITS: Guided visits to ALBA Synchrotron and MareNostrum5 supercomputer

Guided science communication tours of the ALBA Synchrotron and the MareNostrum5 supercomputer at BSC-CNS. The tours included explanations of complex scientific concepts, technical data, and comparisons with everyday examples to make very large or very small figures understandable. An important part has been handling questions, sharpening my ability to improvise drawing on my existing knowledge. The tours were given to both general audiences with no prior background, and experts in the fields of research and computing. For this reason, I adapted my delivery to each target audience, prioritizing comparisons and metaphors with the former, and more advanced technical data with the latter.

VIDEO: The Universe in diapers (Master's thesis)

VIDEO: The Universe in diapers (Master's thesis)

Science communication documentary on cosmology produced as a Master's Final Project. The documentary chronologically traces the earliest moments of the Universe, from the Planck Era to the formation of large-scale structure, covering topics such as cosmic inflation, dark matter, and the Hubble tension. I use a biographical approach, comparing the "life" of the Universe to that of a person to help make the concepts more accessible. It combines original footage, basic animations, interviews, stock resources, and individual voice recording, putting many techniques into practice for the first time in a real communicative product.

WEBSITE: New website for the Spanish Supercomputing Network

WEBSITE: New website for the Spanish Supercomputing Network

Institutional website for the RES developed with Drupal, built from a template, to renew the RES's visual identity. I organized the content as clearly and simply as possible, structuring it around the RES's main services at the time: HPC, data management, and AI. I created an intuitive menu hierarchy that allows users to identify the available resources and how to request them. The visual identity is clean and consistent with the scientific-technical nature of the organization. One section I feel improved notably was the RES nodes section, making it more standardized, intuitive, and visually appealing. In addition to migrating the content from the previous website, I also created new images and infographics that better illustrate and clarify each section.

VIDEO: How do electrons actually communicate?

VIDEO: How do electrons actually communicate?

Science communication video I submitted to the IGFAE science communication video competition. It was my first video outside of an academic context. In the video I explain a surprising and abstract phenomenon: the exchange of photons as part of the electromagnetic interaction. The idea was to generate an immediate mental image that would allow viewers to visualize the concept and liken it to human communication, adding a humorous touch by having particles hurl "photon shots" at each other. I used very basic animations, as it was my first time using AfterEffects, to better illustrate the concepts, and it served as a way to learn the fundamental aspects of the program.

WEBSITE: BeyondTheCMB, blog and personal portfolio

WEBSITE: BeyondTheCMB, blog and personal portfolio

Website built in WordPress with several additional plugins, such as the Astra theme and PolyLang. The structure and hierarchy of the page is simple and organized, to make navigation easy. The website is divided into 2 main parts: the main area, conceived as a blog-style space, and the other part (where you are now!) designed as a personal page and portfolio. The first is envisioned as a personal brand yet to be fully developed, where videos and articles on different scientific topics are published, mainly quantum physics and cosmology (from which the blog's name derives). The second, with an independent menu for this section, focuses on my professional background and skills. This area can be accessed from the first, though the main intention is to share it via direct link.
