There is practically nothing more important than our ability to communicate. Whether it is to express positive or negative feelings, it is a fundamental skill to influence (in the best sense of the word) the world around us. And it turns out that electrons (and all the other particles in the atomic world) also need to communicate somehow. How else are they going to tell each other to move closer or further away? And which way they should go, of course…
While we use languages like Galician, Spanish or even sign language, particles have a much more incredible and fun way of doing it: an all-out photon-throwing battle. Yes, they actually throw photons to each other!
